About The Ecopod

The new millennium brought a greater awareness of the importance of protecting the planet and its resouces. It is this fundamental change that gave birth to the concept of the Ecopod.

The Ecopod is a new development in the history of the coffin. Manufactured entirely from recycled material, the eco-friendly Ecopod is a safe and beautiful alternative to conventional coffins.

All papers, paints and finishing materials are sources from environmentally aware suppliers.

The Ecopod is the result of 10 years' research and development. It is manufactured from paper mache, a completely natural material which has an outstanding record for its strength.

The Ecopod is 100% environmentally friendly and will not pollute the atmosphere or earth.

The Ecopod is one way of keeping our planet beautiful.

   Transportation

  Safe transport is made possible by specially designed carrying straps.
  Everything undergoes rigorous testing before leaving the workshop. The handles are
  a combination of metal and bamboo, and are inserted through loops at the ends of
  each carrying strap. They have been designed so that they can be removed prior to
  burial or cremation, and disposed of separately.

Ecopod Interiors

All Ecopods are fitted with a calico mattress containing a cotton filling. Feather linings can also be fitted as an optional extra with a choice of colours - cream, white, red or pale blue.

Two sizes are available:

Size 1 - height up to 5′3″; carrying a weight of up to 15 stone (210 lb or 95.25 kg)
Size 2 - height up to 6′2″; carrying a weight up to 18 stone (252 lb or 114.30 kg)
